Change into Action Sandwell is working to support citizens who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We aim to support people to tackle the underlying causes of their homelessness and work with them to ensure donations and resources are directed to make a difference.

With your donations we distribute funds across local charitable organisations to support projects and services that work to prevent rough sleeping. Every donation goes towards providing support to vulnerable people.

We believe in providing tailored services that support the specific needs of the individual.

We can work together to best support every vulnerable person across the borough to have a roof over their heads and receive the support they need to lead safe and healthy lives.

By working together, we can see small change turn into a big change.

The network that is hard at work

Change into Action is an alternative giving scheme that supports specialist charities and street teams working to change the circumstances of people experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping.

It is a partnership between Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, the West Midlands Combined Authority and many organisations and public-sector bodies that are working across Sandwell. Donations are received and held by Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and then shared among trusted, local partners that support people who are rough sleeping, or are at risk of rough sleeping.

All donations go directly to supporting people at risk.

West Midlands Police is the second largest police force in the country, covering an area of 348 square miles and serving a population of almost 2.8 million. Preventing crime, protecting the public and helping those in need is their vision.

Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) are the fund holders for Change into Action Sandwell and manage the Change into Action Sandwell Funding Panel. They engage with local partners and stakeholders and promote voluntary action and community participation.

Brushstrokes is based in Smethwick and works with the whole community, particularly asylum seekers, refugees and newcomers. Brushstrokes provide advice and support to migrants who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping.

Cranstoun provides free and confidential advice and support to adults in Sandwell, who would like to talk about alcohol or drugs and offer services such as drug and alcohol detoxification.

The YMCA provides housing and support for vulnerable people, those who are homeless and young parents. They provide residents with training and development that can often lead to employment and give people a sense of purpose and direction.

Centrepoint is a youth homeless charity that works with young people to support them into accommodation and to live independently.

Sandwell Homeless and Resettlement Project works with young people who are in need of accommodation and offer outreach services to support individuals with complex needs.

Street Support Network works to connect people and organisations to support those who need it the most. Street Support West Midlands can help you to find help, give help and learn about homelessness.
